What inspired you to work in pediatrics?
I was drawn to pediatrics because I love the opportunity to care for children while also supporting and educating their families. Children are constantly growing and changing, and I find it incredibly rewarding to be part of their health journey—from infancy through adolescence. I enjoy building trusting relationships with families, focusing on prevention and early intervention, and helping parents feel confident in caring for their children. Pediatrics allows me to combine my passion for healthcare with my desire to make a meaningful, long-term impact on the health and well-being of children and their families.
What unique qualities, skills, or services set you apart, and how do you build a positive rapport with patients and their families?
One of the qualities that sets me apart is my ability to combine clinical knowledge with a warm, family-centered approach. As a Family Nurse Practitioner and Certified Lactation Counselor, I bring a strong focus on preventive care, education, and supporting families through the challenges that come with caring for children. I take the time to truly listen to parents’ concerns, explain things in a way that is easy to understand, and involve families in developing a plan that works for them.
I build positive rapport by meeting each child and family where they are. With children, I strive to create a comfortable and trusting environment by engaging with them at their level and making visits as positive as possible. With parents, I focus on being approachable, nonjudgmental, and supportive. I want families to leave each visit feeling heard, informed, and confident in the care of their child.
